The Unfinished Gigi
My name is Robin, The Unfinished Gigi, welcome to my very first blog. I’m new to all of this and am excited to learn blogging as I go. A little about me… Where to start right? I’m 51, why do we age identify? Why didn’t I start with I’m a Nurse Practitioner? I’ve been in healthcare since 2000, started with my Associate’s degree, worked, raised children and graduated with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2017.
I’m an incredibly lucky wife of almost 31 years, we met when I was still in high school, married when I was 19, still stupid in love (like I said, lucky). We are blessed with two adult sons, 32 and 25, and an amazing 6 year old grandson who knows me as Gigi (sigh). Oh yeah, two rather large, slobbery, wonderfully sweet Great Danes (you’ll hear a lot about those two yard destroying cuddle bugs). I’m a firm believer that as humans we are never “finished”, it’s never “too late” to start something new, learn, and achieve. So here I am the 51 year old NP, wife, mom, and grandmother, The Unfinished Gigi. Lover of travel, baking, movies, empowering other women, and dogs – did I already say that?
Women should be lifting each other up, it’s one of my very favorite things to do. We each have a unique opportunity to make someone’s day just a little better, ease their burden, maybe just make them laugh. Life is hard sometimes, let’s be kind. I hope you join me as I share my unfinished life along with my love of baking, travel, books, and my dogs.
